Lotus Lilies

 

Inspired by the beauty and tranquility of the Edogawa Commemorative Garden at Gosford..... The quilt is comprised of a large, central lotus lily bordered by a surround of fabric printed photographs. These photographs reflect the traditional Japanese features of this 'Shuyu' garden: ponds, Japanese stone lanterns, feature boulders and scenery of views. Chinese and Japanese philosophy tell us that ones life can be lived more fully by being open to the universal rhythms of nature. A Japanese garden seeks to give us a tranquil setting for meditation and reflection.
